Islamic Scholar Imran N. Hosein was born in the Caribbean island of Trinidad in 1942.  He studied Islam at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, for one academic year (1963-64) before traveling to Pakistan to study for 6 years at the Aleemiyah Institute of Islamic Studies in Karachi, under the guidance of the distinguished Islamic scholar,  Maulana Dr. Muhammad Fazlur Rahman Ansari (1914-1974). He also read for a Master's Degree in Philosophy at Karachi University.  

On his return to Trinidad in 1971 he then did post-graduate studies in International Relations at the Institute of International Relations of the University of the West Indies and was awarded a Swiss Government scholarship to pursue doctoral studies in International Relations at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva Switzerland. 

He worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Trinidad as a Foreign Service Officer for a few years before resigning his job in 1985 to devote his life exclusively to the mission of Islam.

He has since emerged as a prolific writer with more than 30 books already published. He also travels extensively on Islamic lecture-tours, and has also devoted a considerable effort in studying and in teaching Islamic eschatology in the modern age. Siddiq Ahmad Nasir was born in Guyana in 1950.  In 1969 he went to Pakistan to study Islam at the Aleemiyah Institute of Islamic Studies under the guidance of the distinguished scholar of Islam, Maulana Dr. Muhammad Fazlur Rahman Ansari, rahmatullaahi Ta'ala 'alaihi.  He has completed a Master's degree in Philosophy, a Master's degree in Education and a Bachelor's degree in Law --- all from the University of Karachi.

Since his return to the Caribbean in 1983 he has been involved in teaching and lecturing, both locally and overseas.  

Currently he is the Amir of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah Institute here in Trinidad.
